About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about yourself and your unique experience with transplantation:
After over 15 years with my Gift of Life, I joined Team Philadelphia for my 8th U.S. Transplant Games and have also participated in the World Games in Hungary, Japan and France. I was diagnosed in 1989 with Goodpasture's Syndrome and was placed on dialysis for kidney failure within 2 months. After 4 long years on dialysis I received my second chance at life 2 days after Christmas in 1992 from an anonymous donor. Because I do not know who my donor family is I embrace all donor families as my own. After my transplant, I then went on to finish five years college in Veterinary Technology, finishing at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine then received an additional degree from Albright College in Business Mngmt., I married the man of my dreams (a donor family member) and has remained active with the Gift of Life Donor Program and the Reading Berks Coalition to educate people about the importance of organ donation. I competed at the games this year and received my 7th consecutive Gold Medal in Women's Badminton. "This means being healthy enough to hold the Gold since 1996" Woooo Hooooo - Together We Make a Difference!

Glad you're feeling better Robin. I missed being at the games too and don't plan on missing them again. I'm still in Philly, but go back to LA tomorrow. Great city, but need to come back with more time to live it up!!

Next time when Philly and MoKan play volleyball we need to be looking across the net at each other instead of stuck watching from the benches...deal?

Sorry I couldn't make it. I was watching my niece and nephew. Don't worry, I'm in better shape than the last two games combined. Tell everyone I'll see them in Pitt.
