- I received diabetes at the age of 5 and went into kidney failure at age 25. A pancreas tx was considered experimental at the time, so the wait was very short for my tx. I have since met and continure to speak to my donor mom on a regular basis. Her only child gave me the gift of life and I am forever thankful.

Yeah missed seeing you at games. Hope you get problems straightened out. TRIO is having Symposium in St Louis in Sept
No we didn't make the games....My Pancreas bit the dust about a week ago 'Yes bummer huh' and I am back on Insulin after 18 1/2 years. They (St. Louis~Washington Univ. Barnes Jewish Hosspital & UCSF) really don't know what happened, or should I say it could have been alot of things that could have happened. ..About 7-8 weeks ago had some weird labs with my Pancreas, but all the nubers came back to normal~~~then about 10 days ago I had labs and my blood sugar was 278...then 400...so off to St. Louis~~~to make a long story short~~~my Pancreas just quit after a long stint.....
Took Insulin for 20 years (71-1990) then 1990-2008 no Insulin..now back on...wow! huh...yes I will be able to get another kid/pan but not a pancreas only...Nancy's kidney won't be able to handle the surgery since its not 100%....so I wait, God has it under control:), Boy I was spoiled 'blessed with that Pancreas:)...anyways thank God I am really healthy....
