Ive only been involved with UCSF for about a year or so. Which goes to say Ive only met Dr Stock and Cely one time. I speak to Cely on the phone regularly. Shes nice and very thorough. I am a Kaiser patient so I was sent to UCSF after Kaiser lost their Transplant Team contract. I was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic in July 1974. During my diabetic years I was faced with diabetic retinopathy that caused blindness in my right eye; have 20/30 in left eye after lots of laser and vitrectomy. In 1998, I was put on CAPD dialysis for 7 1/2 months. March of 1999 I received my kidney/pancreas but 12 days later my pancreas rejected. Went back to insulin til August wnen I got my second pancreas. Its doing well. In 2002, I was diagnosed with BK virus and my transplant meds were lowered to a mininal. My creatine ranges between 1.4-1.6.

Annette....
Yes I was diagnosed with Tple 1 Diabtes, March of 1971, then C. A.P.D dialysis for 2 years 88-90...Kidney?pancreas 1990 UCSF...then Nancy's (wifes's) Kidney Aug., 1992.....
Nancy's Kidney is doing ok...my last creatine was 2.8...It has functioned in the range of 2.0 to 3.0 for almost 17 years. Cyclosporin was not good for Nancy's kidney and after 4-5 years they changed me to FK506 'Prograf'. My Pancreas failing has upped my creatine a bit~~so we will just have to see how this all works out. I am back on Insulin which is kinda weird 'LOL' and I am ajusting to it really well. Do I miss my Pancreas? YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I will just have to see what happens down the road.
Dr. Peter Stock is an awesome Dr.!!! Him and Dr. Chris Friese still look at my labs, but now I am seeing Transplant Docs in St. Louis~'Barnes Jewish Hospital at St. Luis school of Medicine'....I am always in touch with Cely Hinson~~so I get the best of both worlds so to speak....
Anyways all is well with us.....and amen I am really healthy...stay in touch, Tracy
