If you are a recipient, what type of transplant did you receive?: Kidney

Recipients: In this space, feel free to list those you are grateful to for receiving the Gift of LIfe:: My mom Peggy Hepburn donated her kidney to me in1997. My best friend Chantal Reefe-Robinson has donated her kidney to me June 24, 2008.

If you are a recipient, what type of donor did you receive your Gift of Life from?: Living Donor

If you are a recipient, when did you have your transplant(s)?: I had my first transplant on August 22, 1997. I will have the second transplant on June 24, 2008 if all goes wel.

What is your principal transplant med(s)?: rapamune , imuran, prednisone. I was on cyclosporine for 9 years and they switched me to rapamune when my kidney started failing.
Now cellcept, prograf, prednisone.

What is your hospital and, or doctor's name, city / state and country?: Georgetown University Medical Center 1997
Johns Hopkins - present Dr. Robert Montgomery

What do you do for a living?: Radiologic Technologist ( unemployed due to failing kidney)

5 weeks post transplant

It has been 5 weeks since the transplant. Chantal is doing great. She has spent the last week at the beach. I am doing alot better. I feel real good most days. Still get tired easy but I have no pain. My new kidney is functioning perfectly. All is good. I'd also like to thank everyone for their well wishes.

June 24th Kidney Transplant

My wonderful friend Chantal has donated her kidney to me. She is recovering well. I have only had one set back but that has been taken care of and now I am doing great. Can't wait to drive again.

Surgery date

I was given a date for my transplant surgery. June 24. My best friend Chantal is donating her kidney too me.
