Dr. Keith Melancon

About Me: Please use this space to tell the community about yourself and your unique experience with transplantation:
While my kidney disease was degenerative, I never reached the point of requiring dialysis. I was very blessed to have received a perfect match kidney after only being on the waiting list for six months.

I was originally listed at Georgetown University Hospital. Georgetown called me after six months on the waiting list with a perfect match kidney, but refused to provide it to me since my creatine clearance level was not low enough. Although initially upset by having the kidney reallocated after prepping for the transplant surgery, I may not have had a good outcome given my clogged arteries that Hopkins detected during my initial transplant screening. I had a double bypass heart surgery a year prior to having my successful kidney transplant.
What is your relationship status?
Married
