- First of all i am grateful for my donor & his family
because without them i may not have been here today.
Second i am grateful for my mother in making the decision to give me a chance to survive in the world instead of giving up & taking me home to die. I also would like to thank the transplant team & my surgeon, Dr. Leonard Bailey for taking precious care of me & my Gift. Thank You!

Im Sara & im a JUNIOR at Whittier High School.
I received a heart transplant when i was only 5wks old.
I am the 85th baby to receive a Heart Transplant under 6 months of age at LLUMC. I do not remember anything about the transplantation process because i was too young. My Life after transplantation is all I've ever known and I would never change anything about my life. I am currently healthy and have been taking good care of my gift for
17 YEARS!
Im outgoing.I <3 shopping. My friends are some of my biggest supporters! They are always there for me.
My family members are all for promoting Organ Donation around the community. My mom is my HERO. She has helped me through the struggles & the pain. She has been there every second joining me in my journey through having a "normal" life.
I have a Chin-wa puppy named Leo. Im in love w/ ANDREW who has been there for me & shared with me some of the happiest moments in my transplant experience. I love meeting new people; especially at the US & World Transplant Games which i feel everyone must be apart of & experience.
