Hi everyone! I had a double lung transplant in July 2006, after suffering worlds rarest lung disease, 15 lung collapses, being in a coma for 3 weeks, contracting MRSA, C DIFF, Pseudomonas, Shingles, RSV (rare virus), and other infections. Yet..I survived a horredous battle of ill health with sheer determination and a positive attitude NOT to give up my fight. I am a bubbly lass, looking to make and hear other people's stories and gain inspiration of those who are post transplant in all organ types, and anyone else who is brave enough to be my friend..ha ha!!! x x

Wow ,the amazing work of meds and a possitive attitude. My kidney transplant got off to a rough start. A month after transplant caught CMV which attacked my lungs and doctors didn't think I woulkd make it. Then 2 weeks later had a kidney blockage which required another surgery and 12 days in hospita. The pain in my native kidneys became unbearable and about 12 months later my native kidneys were removed and another 12 days in hospital. 9 months later hips failed due to prednisone and had right hip total replacement and left hip with tissue transplant. Due to a clot forming and reaction to morhpine doctors told my sister that I had about 2 hours to live. After 4 days in intensive care ,I spentr a wek in hospital and then a month and one half in rehab center learning to walk again on my legs and hips.
After this I decided I had enough and since 1994 have not spent a night in the hospital and won medals at US transplant games and Australian National transplant games in bicycling.
Life is good and I am blessed.
