Started taking Prograf in 1998 after Transplant #1 and was having a HORRIBLE time with Cyclosporine.

Transplant # 2 = Rapamune
Transplant # 3 = Prograf

Hair thinned out everywhere. Didn't mind not having to shave my legs, but missed the hair on my head. Went from having long, thick, curly hair to thin, baby fine like hair.

Always wearing some kind of hat , usually baseball because I don't like the overly "girly" hats when I go out, even in winter. Don't like the very thin, scalp showing hair I have on top of my head.

But things could be much worse. Could still be on dialysis or not even here.

My highest was a 9 - at the time I was on 3 mg am & 3 mg pm - now I am on 3 mg am & 2 mg pm & I am down to a 6, which I believe is good
I know that levels can come back higher if you don't take it within the proper time period. Let us know what happens & good luck! :o)

Hi Everyone! I donated a kidney to my husband, Greg. He is doing pretty good so far. The transplant was May 13, 2008. He is on Prograf 2mg AM and 2mg PM. His level came back today...it was 14. We are waiting for the Dr. office to call back to see what next step is. Just wondering if anyone out there had the level come back that high.
Have a good evening.

Hi everyone! I take 3 mg in the morning and 2 mg in the evening....i'm about a year and 4 months out of tx, and my dosage has decreased a lot! I was taking over 10 mg daily for the first several months. I started out with really bad side effects but now it just makes it a little harder to sleep if i take it too late at night:)
